DreamCoder for Oracle DBA 4.3 released

Mentat Tecxhnologies have released version 4.3 of DreamCoder for Oracle - a comprehensive tool for developing and managing an Oracle database. The product includes tools and modules to manage and develop an Oracle database server and provides an intuitive interface enabling you to perform database tasks quickly and easily.

DreamCoder for Oracle includes features to build and debug SQL and PL/SQL code. The product also enables the creation, publishing, duplication, export and deletion of objects, as well as database activity monitoring, database synchronization and handling BLOBs and CLOBs.

Oracle 11g Creates World Record For Price/Performance

Oracle® Database 11g Standard Edition One delivered a new world record price/performance result with the TPC-C benchmark it was announced on 19th November.

The database running on a Windows-based Dell PowerEdge T710 server with a single Intel® Xeon® E5520 2.26 GHz processor achieved a TPC-C price/performance result of $0.50/tpmC with a performance result of 239,392 tpmC.

Oracle on Sun Faster Than DB2 on IBM

On 11 October 2009 Oracle announced a new world record for an OLTP system. The TPC-C result for Oracle 11g RAC comprising a 12-node Sun SPARC® cluster with Sun flash drives was 26% faster than IBM's DB2 running on Power 595 and gives Oracle the lead in both performance and price/performance categories.
